Help Is On the Way!  June 1, 2012

June will be an exciting month full of change, new faces, ministry opportunities, and a whole pile of work. I cannot wait to begin.

Maybe we have bit off a little more than we can chew, but help is on the way. A good friend, Rebecca Pritchett, will be joining us short-term here in Hong Kong to help us shoulder the load. We have known Rebecca since she was a child. She was a faithful member of our youth group for four years as a teen when we served in our home church. She also has experience in children’s ministry and camp ministry. She is currently a Christian school teacher, and we are ecstatic that the Lord has led her to spend her summer vacation serving with us.
Because Rebecca will be here, both Michelle and I are able to study full-time at language school this summer. Michelle will get her first taste of the challenge and fun of intense language acquisition. Rebecca will watch our kids while we are at class and then on the weekends and some evenings get involved in ministry opportunities with children, music, and outreach.
In addition to this, I have an unexpected opportunity to preach and minister to Chinese people in Singapore and Malaysia, June 9-15. A like-minded church in Singapore has invited me to be their church camp speaker. Pray for me as a travel, minister, and try not to get behind in my Cantonese study.
