My Initiation
On Friday morning, I was sitting in Biology class waiting for the specimen dish to be passed to me. When it was finally my turn to look into the dish, I saw the small octopus mangled and limp lying on the bottom of the dish. “Poor little guy!” I thought. At that moment, I could not have imagined the event that would take place later that night. For dinner a few hours later, I went with a group of my friends from PCC to a local Chinese Restaurant. As I walked in and saw the buffet line, the first thing that I caught my eye was fresh pineapple. I was excited. But then my eyes rested on an odd dish next to the bowl of green, leafy salad. It contained a lot of little octopus’ tentacles in a heap waiting to decorate the customer’s delicious salad. This was my time to shine. I thought of it as my initiation to my summer mission’s trip. Mrs. King, the director of Children’s Bible Ministry, reminds missionaries that a good motto for them to say on the mission field is: “Where He leads me I will follow, what He feeds me I will swallow!” Next thing I knew, the tentacle was on my fork and ready to be eaten. I am glad to report that it resembled something a like a green bean. It was not that bad after all! Now that I have passed that test, I think I am ready for my summer mission’s trip!
100% Praise the Lord
Thank you immensely for your support! My summer support has been met. I thank the Lord for your eagerness to support me on this trip and to surround me with your prayers!! I give thanks to the Lord for your friendship! I look forward to writing another update soon to share what the Lord is teaching me and what other odd creations I have been eating.
Salmo 23
Please pray that I would stay focused and committed during the final few weeks of school. Also, I will be preparing supplies and equipment needed for the trip while I am here at school. Pray that I would pack efficiently and have wisdom as to how I can be best prepared. Last year while I was completing two semester of Spanish, one of my class projects was to memorize Psalm 23 (Salmo 23) in Spanish. Please pray that I would review those verses and have an opportunity to share that passage of Scripture while I am on my trip. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword." Hebrews 4:12
